The Windmill

Today was great, I hadn’t practiced for ages but managed to remember most of the lyrics from my previous show. I worked frantically for the last couple of days finish off lyrics for knew songs and going out at lunch to practice down by the river. I like the idea of always bringing something new to the gig, especially as I’m not doing too many at the moment.

It was much more fun this time, I really settled into the songs and even though I made mistakes I really enjoyed them. Where as before I came away a little shell shocked this time I am hungry for more shows. I got a lot of encouragement from people which helps, so expect to see me around a bit more. :)

My first show

In the run up to my first ever live show this weekend, I’ve been doing pretty much nothing but practicing my songs. Melanie has been most helpful encouraging me to project my voice and enjoy the songs. Its true, they have a sad tinge to most of them, but there are some fun/less sad ones too.

Also i’ve produced this flyer: runrabbit.jpg

It should be fun, i’m on first at eight, followed by The Sneer, and then Kat Flint, after which there are some great djs. It’ll go on until 12 after, though with work next day i’m not sure how long I can stick around.

More practice still to do trying to wrap my silly monkey thumbs around the guitar but i’m getting there. I have a few new things I haven’t put online yet (I will do very shortly) that i’ll be playing, hope I remember them ok.

I am still buzzing about this, its made me smile lots the last few weeks, i can’t help Hannah enough for setting up all up.

Preamble Five Track

I have songs online now, all over the shop. On last.fm and on myspace, by mostly here. I’ve set up a page just for my musical related content at /music. You can download tracks individually from there or grab the whole lot in one big zip file. I still need to practice them all a bit really, but putting something out there will hopefully get the ball rolling a bit faster. Next step is to find somewhere that’ll let me play. :)
